CALGreen-The building envelope including the foundations has to comply the weather-resistant norms subjected in the codes.
CALGreen-The building envelope including the foundations has to comply the weather-resistant norms subjected in the codes.
CALGreen – The maintenance staff needs to undergo systems operation training for equipment’s and systems involved in the running of the building efficiently. The training program includes system manual, operation and maintenance (O&M) documentation and record drawings.
CALGreen – The Basis of Design (BOD) documents the thought processes and assumptions behind design decisions being made to meet the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR). The OPR is intended to capture the need and expectation from the project.
CALGreen – Excavated soil means soil removed from the surface or subsurface. Land clearing debris means rocks, soils, tree remains, trees, and other vegetative matter that normally results from land clearing or land development operations for a construction project.
CALGreen – Recycling offers financial benefits for construction. There are many recyclers who charge very little to accept construction waste, which can be reprocessed, particularly if it is separated from other materials. Furthermore, recycling can decrease your material transportation and dumping costs.
CALGreen – Owner’s Project Requirement is the functional requirements of the expectations of the facilities and systems that is the foundation for successful delivery of a project defined by the owner. It is one of the documents to be written at the Pre-Design Stage, which should clearly define the expected functional requirements, operation, and acceptance of a building.
CALGreen-Fresh Air – Ventilation is the essential process of replacing stale air with fresh air. Proper ventilation in buildings helps curb the spread of allergens and toxins in the air. It helps to moderate internal temperatures, internal humidity, replenishing oxygen, reducing the accumulation of moisture, odours, bacteria, dust, carbon dioxide, smoke and other contaminants that can build up during occupied periods.
California Green Building Code (CALGreen) – Fireplaces Fireplaces raises smoke, this contaminated air should not be mixed with indoor air. This California Green Building Code
California Green Building Code CALGreen – Filters – Air Filter system potentially removes solid airborne particles in a specific space, if inhaled in the lungs, it is generally harmful to human health. It protects their occupants against external and internal sources of air contaminants and improve their comfort, health and productivity with clean indoor air. It filters harmful particles such as germs, dust, pollen, powder, mold, fibers, etc.
California Green Building Code -CALGreen proposes to prohibit smoking in the public areas of the building except in designated smoking areas.
These steps are taken to lower the volatile organic compounds (VOC) in finish materials that are frequently used on a project, which will assist the
CALGreen – These regulation aims to promote the use of ultra-low emitting formaldehyde (ULEF) resins or no-added formaldehyde (NAF) based resins for items installed in a project.
CALGreen – These precautions are meant to lower occupant exposure to potentially dangerous fumes or chemicals in certain spaces or rooms, such as garages, cleaning or laundry rooms, and printing rooms. Additionally, it prevents dangerous effects from spreading to nearby locations.
CALGreen – These procedures are meant to lessen the number of pollutants that people’s shoes or wet clothing bring into a building at points of entrance. This maintains higher level air quality for building occupants by keeping the air and finish surfaces free of contaminants.
CALGreen – These are meant to give building occupants some degree of control over the lighting and thermal comfort in their workstations, including multi-occupant spaces. Although there is little evidence to back up assertions that workers who have control over lighting and thermal comfort are more productive or more likely to show up to work, the objective is to raise workplace satisfaction.
CALGreen – To limit the use of refrigerants that harm the ozone layer and cause the greenhouse effect. The EPA is phasing out the use of these refrigerants gradually, but voluntary adoption of these regulations can fasten the process and safeguard our planet.
CALGreen – The intent of this measure is to salvage over 65% of all non-hazardous, new construction or demolition waste. The purpose is to reduce the amount of construction waste from new construction and demolition. This would encourage material resource efficiency through reuse and recycling of construction waste products
CALGreen – The installation and features of elevators and escalators that conserve energy by providing systems and controls to reduce the energy demand. This will save large amount of energy consumptions.
CALGreen – The infrastructure needs to be ready to support future electrical demands raising by the EV charging capabilities. This is done by installing raceways for future electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) at the time of new building construction.
CALGreen – To promote the usage of recycled water which helps to reduce down the demand for the portable water requirement.
California Green Building Code, CALGreen – Community Connectivity
California Green Building Code, CALGreen – Energy efficiency design is an integral part of any building built in the state of California. All newly constructed building as well as addition and alteration projects are required to meet the minimum energy efficiency thresholds.
Covering and protection of ducts and mechanical equipment during construction in a CALGreen mandatory measure. It is applicable to all Residential and Non-Residential projects. This measure is triggered if there is a probability of any part of the HVAC system being exposed to dust and fumes from the construction process.
Section ‘Acoustical Control’ of California Green Building Code, CALGreen, is a mandatory measure applicable for all Non-Residential buildings.

CALGreen promotes sustainable bio-based materials that are rapidly renewable and are responsible harvested. This is an elective measure that can be selected to meet CALGreen Tier 1 and Tier 2 requirements.
This is an elective CALGreen measure and can be used by remodeling and rebuild projects as well as new construction projects building on previously developed lots. The CALGreen code language is as follows.
California Green Building Code: CALGreen – Appliances and fixtures for commercial application
Continuous board insulation is defined by ASHRAE 90.1 (the U.S. energy standard for all commercial and some residential buildings) as “Insulation that is continuous across all structural members without thermal bridges other than fasteners and service openings. It is installed on the interior, exterior, or is integral to any opaque surface of the building envelope.”
The HERS or Home Energy Rating System was developed by RESNET and is the nationally recognized system for inspecting a home’s energy performance. These inspections are on site verification of the energy efficiency features. – HERS Testing and Inspections
